As a fully Registered Psychotherapist with over 5 years of experience, I understand how talking to someone about your problems and concerns can be uncomfortable and distressing; however, I believe seeking help, for problems we do not know how to manage on our own, is a healthy and normal human experience. It takes courage to make that initial contact and I want to make it as comfortable and productive as possible. My name’s Jordan and I genuinely want to help you.
My Areas of Practice
I work with a variety of populations (e.g. ages, races, ethnicities, religions, sexualities, & cultures) with various presenting concerns. I have experience treating and mitigating challenges with depression, anxiety, addiction, self-esteem issues, trauma connected with relationships, relationship specific issues, post-traumatic stress, OCD, emotional regulation, and general personal development. I’m passionate about helping individuals actively work on their challenges and developing their sense of agency and choice.
My Approach
I provided therapy that is geared towards discovering the factors contributing to your concerns and helping you develop the awareness, skills, and tools in managing them. My role is to support, teach, and guide you through the therapeutic process of understanding your problems, through various psychological perspectives, and creating a collaborative plan to treat and mitigate them. I’m real and authentic and sensitive to the complexities of life’s challenges and circumstances. I meet you were you’re at and work with you. You may not need therapy but, it could be very helpful in changing your life in a lasting way.
Therapeutic Modalities
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from multiple modalities and theoretical backgrounds. Some include Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT); as well as, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy for OCD related concerns. I’m able to help make sense of complex problems, cultivate a comfortable and accepting environment, and instill hope. I firmly believe that struggles with mental health are a natural part of life and psychotherapy can be an effective method to expand one’s sense of control in navigating one’s tests, trials, and tragedies.
I look forward to speaking with you.
