Thanks for being here! Hi, I’m Isla! Taking the first step toward seeking help can be challenging, and I strive to make this journey as authentic, supportive, and transformative as possible for you.
As a Child and Youth Counsellor trained in crisis intervention, I’ve worked with youth facing challenges such as homelessness, relapse, familial issues, eating disorders, and trauma. This experience has shaped my understanding of a core element in every therapeutic relationship: the need for genuineness, empathy, and respect. These values remain at the forefront of my practice, ensuring a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable, valued, and understood.
My areas of practice include supporting clients with self-esteem challenges, relationship issues, trauma, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and depression. I’m passionate about helping individuals build confidence, navigate social pressures, and develop healthy coping strategies in today’s fast-paced, ever-changing world.
I aim to create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Through warmth and empathy, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you by building a treatment plan together that reflects your unique values, strengths, and goals. I believe in upholding your autonomy, empowering you to take the lead in your healing journey and shape your narrative. I am currently a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and working toward my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I also hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Guelph.
I recognize that every client’s journey is unique, and I therefore strive to provide a holistic approach to counselling. I draw on evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tailor my approach to your individual needs. I intend to equip you with practical skills to navigate challenges, fostering meaningful and lasting change. Using trauma-informed, strengths-based principles, I aim to help calm the mind, soothe the body, and restore a sense of control.
I’m honoured to be part of your journey. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to connect with you. Feel free to book a free 15-minute consultation, and we can start this journey together. I’m here to answer any questions you might have.
